About Our Pilate Program

Our Danville Pilates Program focuses on the principles of utilizing core strength, body control, precision, and flow of functional movement with sequenced breath. Danville Pilates Center’s program is unique in that we are an intimate studio where I work with my clients in customizing their fitness goals. My evolved Pilates program emphasizes the fundamental connection that Pilates creates between the mind and the body. Centered on creating core strength in the deep muscles of the abdomen, back, and hips, Pilates helps with better body alignment and posture. Pilates sequencing involves whole body, multi-joint movements that require full range of motion, which builds strength while helping create long, lean, and defined muscles. Pilates is an excellent modality for all people, including women who are in their pre- or post-natal stages, those who want to gain an edge in their athletic pursuits, and individuals needing rehabilitation.
Our private and group apparatus classes use the brand new Balanced Body®, Allegro® 2 Tower of Power reformers, Studio Reformer/Towers, Clinical Reformer/Tower, CoreAligns, and Split Pedal Chairs. The equipment allows clients endless possibilities in movement and training. Each session at Danville Pilates Center is a full body workout, customizable, and always challenging and engaging.

Great workout – love the teacher/owners! If you’re looking for a core, overall body strengthening workout, check out this studio. The reformer machines give you just the right amount of resistance to challenge the regular Pilates movements. Ask for Betty if you have questions, she’s so sweet and knowledgeable.

Betty is the best Pilates instructor I’ve come across in my life. She is knowledgeable, positive, engaging; and she helps me truly enjoy Pilates. Betty’s thorough understanding of the muscular makeup of the body will help any Pilates student-novice or intermediate, pregnant or injured, advance in their own practice. She challenges and motivates each student while focusing on the fundamentals of form and balance, adding on variations and fully explaining the key steps and target goal. After having taken Pilates with Betty for the last two years, I have never been stronger or leaner.

Pilates has changed my whole attitude about exercise! I absolutely love it! It is an essential and vital part of my life. I believe most of it is due to the importance Betty puts on each and every move we do. She is an extraordinary instructor who is able to communicate the importance of how our bodies are connected with our minds and our muscles.

Kim is such a creative teacher, always introducing new things – it’s not the sort of class that you attend for a while and then get bored. I have been taking classes from Kim for over a year and am amazed, again and again, that she is a terrific teacher for students of all levels. Kim is aware and observant of newer students. When I first attended her class, she offered me modifications that made it possible for me to do the exercises. As I learn more, she provides me with feedback to continually improve my alignment and strength. I don’t know how she does this in a group setting, but I always feel as if I’m receiving individualized feedback that is appropriate for my body.
